Innovative Social Networking EAP Raises $9M Second Round

05/24/2013 – ATIN – An innovative effort to apply the Internet mobile devices and social networking to employee assistance programs – which in practice spend a major part of their efforts dealing with addiction treatment drug rehab alcohol rehab issues and are top source of institutional referral into then addiction treatment industry – has raised $9M in a second round of venture funding.

One Recovery

OneHealth Solutions, which launched in 2008 as exclusively addictions oriented OneRecovery, last month raised the $9M million second round of funding from existing investor Lemhi Ventures. The money will go to expanding the service and supporting the added accounts of a number of recently added partners and customers. Since January, the company has signed agreements with healthcare company Cenpatico, healthcare management organization Magellan, insurer Amerigroup, and, most recently, food and drug retailer Safeway. According to OneHealth, in a pilot with Aetna with members dealing with substance abuse, OneHealth was able to reduce treatment center readmissions by 58 percent, for an estimated cost savings to the system of $9,000 per patient.

Addiction Veteran

OneHealth Addiction Veteran in 2009 hired as its marketing chief Drew Paxton, who is formerly CEO of Sausalito-based Alta Mira and director of residential at Betty Ford and did not immediately return calls for comment. Harold Jonas, the Delray Beach sober living entrepreneur and founder of Sober.com – which was the first ever addictions oriented marketing web site – is currently working on his SoberSystems venture, which would compete with OneHealth on the addictions side.
