Shari Hampton, a nationally recognized recovery coach, believes there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution for overcoming addiction. In other words, there are alternatives to the 12 steps, the best-known recovery tool.
In this video from our Recovery Reimagined interview with Hampton, she says, “I think one of the challenges we have in treatment is that the major focus is on the 12 steps. So, what I would reimagine is that we broaden our perspectives and focus more on holistic approaches.”
Hampton is a recovery coach for the SHE RECOVERS Foundation. She also founded Shari Hampton Consulting and does training work on anti-racism. Hampton teamed with fellow recovery coach Ester Nicholson for this Recovery Reimagined interview. To read the entire piece, click here.
