NCAD Taking Champion Award Nominations
The National Conference on Addiction Disorders (NCAD) Champion Award recognizes clinical and executive leadership, community excellence and performance in the addiction recovery field. The award winner will receive a plaque, onstage recognition and acknowledgement in Addiction Professional and Behavioral Healthcare Executive. Nominations for the 2021 NCAD Champion Awards are now being accepted; the deadline is April 15.

Back from Broken Nominated for Excellence in Audio Award
Back from Broken, from the Colorado Public Radio (CPR) Audio Innovations Studio and CPR News, has been nominated in The Podcast Academy’s worldwide Excellence in Audio competition. It was selected in the Best Interview Podcast category. Back from Broken, which focuses on recovery from addiction, mental health and physical issues, launched its second season last month.

“I can’t even begin to tell you how many people have reached out to me personally to thank me for launching this podcast,” said Back from Broken host Vic Vela. “It’s been overwhelming in a wonderful way, hearing from listeners who have heard their own story in someone else’s journey.”

The Institute for Research, Education & Training in Addictions (IRETA) will present the next webinar in its series on March 17 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. EST. Titled “Clinical and Ethical Issues Managing Suicide Risk with Individuals Using Substances,” the webinar features John O’Neill, clinical director of Menninger’s Outpatient Services in Bellaire, Texas. Registration is open.

NAADAC Webinar on Clinical Supervision in Spanish
On March 18 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. EST, NAADAC will present the webinar “The Practice of Clinical Supervision in Spanish, Session 3.” Members of NAADAC will receive 1.5 CEs for free, and non-members will obtain 1.5 CEs for $20. Everyone can participate in the webinar for free, and registration is open.
