Grayken Center Addiction Nursing Fellowship
Boston Medical Center’s Grayken Center for Addiction launched an addiction nursing fellowship, the first of its kind. The six-month program provides two registered nurses at BMC, Kerri Fernandes, R.N., in photo above, and James Evans, R.N., the inaugural Grayken Addiction Nursing fellows, with specialized training to care for patients with substance use disorders and their co-occurring conditions. The six-month fellowship will consist of training in medication treatment, harm reduction techniques and utilizing trauma-informed care and will be offered twice a year, with two nurses in each cohort.

Recovery Centers of America recently opened its ninth inpatient addiction treatment facility in Indianapolis and is offering nearly 200 job positions. A range of openings are available at RCA locations throughout the city. 

Washington, D.C., Samaritan Inns Openings
Offering support in its multiple D.C.-based transitional homes, Samaritan Inns has job openings including: addiction counselor, long-term recovery intake counselor, and residential treatment monitors.

Comedian John Mulaney Checks into Rehab
Stand-up comedian John Mulaney checked into treatment following a recent relapse after more than a decade of sobriety. Mulaney has talked about his alcohol and substance abuse openly throughout his career. He has received an outpouring of support from fans, family and fellow celebrities. 

PAIN’s podcast Don’t Hide the Scars
The nonprofit group Parents and Addicts in Need started a podcast Don’t Hide the Scars, available on iHeart Radio and Spotify, to create a space to continue the dialogue about addiction and the opioid epidemic. Though based in Central Valley, Calif., the group and its podcast have offered support to families and listeners beyond that location.
