In this video, the behavioral health innovator explains what’s holding back tech

Matt Vogl, MPH, founder and executive director of the National Mental Health Innovation Center (NMHIC) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, sees great potential in the ability of technology to create change in behavioral health. But he also sees a gaping hole in the dynamic: “Who’s going to want to create something if there’s not a market for it?”
In this video from an interview with Annie Peters, PhD, LP, director of research and education for the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP), Vogl discusses the technology gap in behavioral health treatment. It’s been brought on, he says, by the lags in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval process and the gesticulations of policymakers.
The interview with Vogl is part of the Recovery Reimagined series, a collaboration between TreatmentMagazine.com and the NAATP that is designed to bring innovative ideas into the addiction and behavioral health space. To read the complete interview with Vogl, click here.
