NAADAC Call for Presentations
NAADAC, the National Association for Addiction Professionals, is now welcoming proposal submissions from professionals who wish to present at the NAADAC 2022 Annual Conference in Indianapolis at the J.W. Marriott Oct. 7-12, 2022. Submissions of proposals for 1.5-hour breakout sessions are open to both members and non-members, and must be completed by Jan. 24. Alcohol Screening and Inclusivity
The Institute for Research, Education & Training in Addictions (IRETA) will be hosting the webinar “Sex, Gender, and Screening for Alcohol Use – Time for a Change” on Dec. 15 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. EST. Presenter Jim Winkle, MPH, SBIRT Oregon website creator and designer of screening forms, clinic tools and training videos used by health professionals across the country, will address the intersection of sex, gender and alcohol screening through discussion of the relevance of gender and sex to the identification of risky drinking behaviors, as well as how tools for screening can be revised for greater inclusivity. Co-occurring Disorders in Teens
The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation webinar “Treatment for Teens with Co-occurring Disorders,” taking place on Dec. 15 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. EST, will explore barriers to treatment that co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders may present, and lay out evidence-based practices to approach treatment in adolescents and young adults. Attendees will also learn to distinguish between symptoms of intoxication or withdrawal and symptoms of co-occurring mental health disorders. Register here.
Parenting in Recovery
Presenting a new approach to focusing on recovery before parenting, the NAADAC webinar “Walking Alongside: Strategies to Support Parenting in Recovery” will be held on Dec. 15 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. EST. Attendees will hear a personal experience of parenting as a catalyst for recovery, and learn about individual and group approaches to simultaneously support both recovery and parenting.

Certification Testing Coordinator
NAADAC is currently seeking a certification testing coordinator to join the Testing Department within the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NCCAP) and provide test administration support, servicing of test-takers, results and reports, among other tasks outlined here.
