Addiction Treatment Industry Newswire - Newswires
March 2012

03/02/2012- ATIN- Dr. Seddon Savage, among the world's most respected specialists in pain medicine and President of the American Pain Society, will head a new chronic pain addictions program at Silver Hill Hospital, a 80-year-old high end alcohol rehab, drug rehab and psychiatric services provider. Silver Hill currently has balance sheet liquidity - current assets - of nearly $17M and operating income - excess cash generated annually from operations - of over $2M on revenues of $33M. In opening a specialty clinic devoted to treating those who have become addicted to pain meds because of chronic pain conditions, the East Coast non-profit will be entering a highly competitive arena, with high quality, high end addiction treatment programs focused on chronic pain being offered at places like Casa Palmera outside San Diego and CRC's Bayside Marin facility near San Francisco. Silver Hill, which has undergone a Phoenix-like rebirth, both clinical and financial, under the st ewardship of Dr. Sigurd Ackerman, is seeking to address the huge and problem of prescription pain medication addiction, which is by far the fastest growing area of addictions currently and whose intractability is bedeviling government players as diverse as the DEA and state governments like Florida.
